My Dad (The Kid) was always a note taker, a scribbler, very crafty. He had little hand written notes everywhere. From phone numbers to reminders. He would even tape little hand written instructions to the back of the remote control or in his desk drawers. He would twist his lips and concentrate hard when he wrote. He was always very proud of his penmanship. As his health failed him during his last years, he was distraught over his handwriting. Because of his illness and medications, his hands would shake not allowing him to write as nice as he once had. He still did though, and he handled this like all other things in stride. To combat this, he would write things over and over until he was satisfied.

Unbeknownst to me, he had kept multiple journals and notepads full of amazing teachings. I discovered these after his death. As I took care of things after his passing I found them and many other handwritten treasures. For him it was a way to remember and recite his favorite Bible verses or quotes. He wrote what he learned and what helped him through his days. He wrote down his prayers and some of his deepest feelings. He wrote about his love for his family and his love for the Lord.

To be honest, I was not ready to delve into these until a few months ago. Once I started to go read his journals I found powerful inspiration. I found and received treasures worth more than any amount of money.

Without knowing it, he was leaving behind teachings to my family and I. It is my honor to share these entries with all of you. Everyday I will, and have been, focusing on one entry from his writings. My hope and prayer is that his words and the words of our Lord will inspire you, and be just the thing that you need on that very day.

To read about why he and my Mother (MissB) are the inspiration for the Court of Lions click above on the "About Court of Lions" tab.

Please share these treasures with anyone and everyone. If something that you read on this blog inspires or helps you in any way, I would love to hear about it.
I use #colbiblestudy on each post so you can easily find these entries on social media. Your friends and family can search this hashtag on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.

May God bless you.
